After decades of operating the MDI Water Taxi and Tours Service out of Northeast Harbor on Mt. Desert Island (and being featured in a 7-page July Travel and Leisure Magazine article, and others), the Winter Harbor Water Taxi and Tours Service was initiated in 2009 in response to the demonstrated need of a water-related chance for folks to view and photograph the many beautiful harbors and small islands that populate Winter Harbor, Birch Harbor, Prospect Harbor, Corea Harbor and the Schoodic Sections of Acadia National Park . . .

GET TO BAR HARBOR - QUICK!
With a driving distance of some 43 miles to Bar Harbor on Mt. Desert Island (and the one-hour plus that it can take in the summer), the modest and safe 25 +/- minute, 7 mile trip across Frenchman Bay by water taxi provides a significant savings in time and travel expense to those in the Schoodic Area who wish to spend a day exploring the Winter Harbor/Schoodic area either on foot or by using the day-round service of the Island Explorer Free Bus Services running from the docks hourly, throughout the various Villages and out around the Schoodic Peninsula Park Road.
